Tainted
You’ve forever tainted your image. You’ve forever tainted your name. I’ll never be able to think of you the same. Your words are troublesome; They ring like echoes in my mind. Where did you get that idea? Your logic is hard to find. You said I was your buddy; You said I was your pal. I never wanted to be thought of As your gal. It’s a sickening thought, To think you thought of me in that way. What made you think it was okay? What did I do, what did I say, To give you that impression? I feel sick; I feel dirty. I’m worried that I’m on your mind. I was too young to even try to be flirty. How was it that you could conjure up that thought? Is it that you think about me often, Or was it just when you heard my voice? I’m afraid of what else you might be thinking. To be thought of that way by you is not my choice. Your voice, As you said that one word, Will never leave my mind. It replays constantly like a record. I’ll never be able to look at myself the same. You’ve forever tainted my image. You’ve forever tainted my name.
