My shift just ended. The coffee in my cup is cold. I have sharpened down all my pencils to the ends And I'm staring at old letters from you. I'm trying to erase the things that have gotten old But the words that matter most they are jumping out at me like they were written in bold. I went to get a cup of coffee to pretend I was being productive But my heart cannot be deceived by pointless acts. Today I clocked out and I won't be coming back for a while. I plan on running. I took off my heels and started running towards the hills. Anywhere but here I'd give anything to be there now. My heart is racing but I ignore the sound. I wish it could be quiet for once. If I could I'd put it on a permanent diet for once. When it starts to sing it's the whole choir that it wants. I say shut up you silly little blonde stop being such a dunce. Now all I can feel is the wind blowing up my skirt and the moist dirt on my toes. I never knew freedom could feel like this I do cartwheels and back flips through the jungle alone. No one appreciates being alone quite like me. It's being vulnerable that I refuse to be. So while everyone is scared to be alone I'm scared not to be free. So I run as fast as I can and no don't try to catch me because you won't find me. My shift just ended. My coffee is cold. Where has she gone running to? The world may never know....
