Georgia Just-Us System
When I got out of prison the choice was understood. Become a thief and robber or live out in the woods. There were no other choices. Georgia law made it real plain. After twenty years in prison my freedom I could not gain. With a check for twenty-five dollars and just the clothes I stood there in. I was told to go and sin no more, but society wouldn't let me in. So I set out a walking not knowing what I might find. Just walking on the railroad with a depressed and troubled mind. For forty-seven days I walked in hunger, fear and pain. Wondering what the hell waas the use I'd never be accepted again. But then I met my Savior. When I could go no more. He gave me strength for one more mile and opened up new doors. Then the past came calling to knock me down again. And now I sit in a cell once more. Will there ever be an end?
