The Light In Her Eyes
I’m scared of the dark, yet here I sit alone. There’s no need to find me. Content in this place, though hard as I try, I can’t stop looking behind me. Why is it right here that I find myself, over and over again? As the hours pass by, the conclusion remains: it’s all beginning to end. To think of the worst will only keep me here, and answers are what I seek. So I take a look around and come across a mirror. Into my future I peek. There in my eyes is a reflection of light. It was shining all along. I see wonderful things and smiling faces, and hear this beautiful song. I walk away singing, knowing not to forget that girl that lives in the mirror. The light in her eyes shines much too bright. The answers couldn’t be clearer. That something which was missing has since been found. I fear the shadows no more. So I’ll stay in the dark and I’ll sit here alone, while I laugh at the me I was before.
