A Gift of Perspective
Like Jesus’ invitation to his disciples: ‘follow me,’ I feel that there’s a voice within that calls me, amid some doubts and worries that bother me; I can sense God’s wonder in His own mysterious way. It’s a free choice that draws me closer to what He means, service and testimony to my brothers and sisters; with the cross that symbolizes a way of living, my hope and consolation that leads me to keep going. As God’s disciple, there’s always a challenge to wrestle with a motley of assortment, a barrage of issues to deal with, I know that they aren’t easy and comparatively a remedy; but real challenges that make me brace for another turn. While relationship takes its centerpiece in every movement, there’s only in retrospect do I recognize values that complement; humility in the context of service where Jesus Christ appears – a classic model, a living testament that knows no difference among cultures or ethnicities with a hodgepodge of colors. These are significant answers with a great deal of who we are, we may be Chinese, Filipinos, Malaysians or whoever we are; our race, identity, culture, and personality may be combined, to seek peace and justice in what we are called to understand. There’s a line that says: ‘he stood tall but not above people,’ reminds me of so many people who offered their lives in troubles; their journey of faith and struggles to cope with relationships, embody selflessness with inner insight and human sacrifice. Their triumphs and failures mold them to advance in wisdom, some seek guidance and opportunity to learn what life is all about along with the road map that each has his own quest of love like a global word that’s deemed with respect and sacredness.
