A Single Tear
Here I sit on your lap, your luscious brown eyes staring down at me intently. I feel a smile creeping upon my lips. Oh how perfect it all seems. For the moment. Grabbing a sharpie a mark your skin. Upside down crosses and hearts all over. Never let go I whisper, and a tear falls down your cheek. Startled I stare into your eyes, "What's wrong?" I ask. You start shaking, I see the spark in your eyes dimming. Looking in the ashtray next to you I see, two needles and three joints in the glass. "NO!" I cry unable to help it. Scrambling off your lap I reach for the phone, but your hand there is stopping me. "I'll be fine baby." You try to whisper. My heart feels like it's being torn to shreds. "YOU'RE DYING!" I scream You smile that adorable smile, and motion for a kiss, I oblige and you exhale your last breathe. I call but already I know it's too late. "God damn you!" I scream so loud and only it feels mute. I break everything I touch my hands bleeding and anger only fueling my pain. Crawling over to you I hold your head, and whisper softly. "Why wasn't I good enough for you?" Tonight not only have you killed yourself, you've taken me with you. I point the gun to my head, a single tear running down my cheek. And everything goes black as i stare into your eyes one last time.
