A Beautiful Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas I was filled with gracious prose for all the gifts I have been given that didn't come with bows I knew I already had all I'd ever need but there was one more thing that would make my world complete I felt selfish to ask so I asked for something else a brand new pair of glasses and nothing else I didn't ask for what I truly wanted though I prayed somehow he knew I fell asleep with childish hope my secret wish might just come true Morning came and my hope slightly faded as I checked beneath the tree and saw nothing special waited I accepted that it wasn't time and that was okay There'd be another Christmas There'd be another day Then suddenly two tiny hands handed me a gift I wondered what my two year old and his daddy could have picked A pair of glasses I thought as I opened up the case but inside it was my gift as tears streamed down my face I realized I had gotten my wish and love was all I could see As I heard those beautiful words "Will you marry me?"
