My Greatest Gift
The greatest holiday gift I've received, the love he has given freely to me. This gift lasts long after days of December, in every shared moment, through ashes and embers. His hand in my hand brings fever divine. The flush of my cheeks with his lips upon mine. The whispers we share in the dark never wane. Gifts from his heart bring life to the mundane, the light in his eyes when he looks at my face, his smile, his touch, the warmth of his embrace. With the gift of his love every day, I receive the joy of a new holiday. By Rhonda Johnson-Saunders, 1/10/2012 *This is the first poem I posted on PS. It was written for my husband, and I entered it in my first PS contest (The Greatest Holiday Gift I Ever Received). It only place twelfth, but I was thrilled to place at all!
