I Stop and Wonder Why
I plant a seed but it won’t grow, The wind blows cold and it does snow. I think I’ll stick to what I know, I open my eyes the way will show. I think I’ll wait until it is spring, The sun will shine warmth it brings. Watch for bees for they can sting. I’ll listen for the birds to sing. Tomorrow fades it’s all but gone. The day is short nights are long. I finally seem to get some sleep, I pray my soul for God to keep. The sun shines down it is so bright, The darkness parts, gives way to light. I went left instead of right, But now the path is back in sight. I still get lost but not for long, I’m tired of hearing that sad song. I know right can seem like wrong, Still I remember how to be strong. I find the truth wrapped in a lie, I feel a part inside me die. I feel sorrow but don’t need to cry, But I still stop and wonder why.
