Dying Alone
Dying Alone ~~~ There once was a woman who had a fear And this worry went on for many a year Dying alone consumed her mind A friend it seemed was hard to find For years she never need them Her will, she never would bend So never did she take time to offer a smile To a passing stranger, it wasn’t worth while Priorities she set and her career was high Always rushing was she walked by Dinners at her desk became a familiar thing There was no time for an occasional fling Holidays were spent all alone No lights could be seen at her home For years the seasons came and gone And her life of emptiness went on and on She woke up one day to see that she had aged And that she had not prepared for the coming page No family or friends, no children to hold Her future happiness down the river she sold Seemed her greatest fear was coming true A trap of sort she never knew For her own selfishness had caused this pain All her hard work and dedication had gave her little to gain She sits in her chair day after day As her tears washes her make-up away
