Again and Again: Until I'M Dead
Object of mass destruction: Myself and nothing more. I drink until bottom is up and I can't even see the floor. I stagger out to my empty car and Fumble with the door. If I make it home tonight, I don't even care anymore. My vision is blurred. My mind is heavily stirred. I drink to blot out the pain, but I really only hurt worse. I know I hurt others When i do what i do. All the stories I've been told; All the feelings I've heard. Thoughts swirl in my head. I try to push them back but They come again and again. I stumble when I walk; I swerve when I drive. I can't count the people I may have killed in my drunken life. Though it's really two steps backward, I push myself ahead: Drink after drink, Tripping and falling, Rushing and stalling. "I'll be fine; I'm ok", I've always said. Thoughts swirl in my head. I try to push them back but They come again and again. Then I black out and Now I'm dead. I drink until bottom is up and I can't even see the floor. Object of mass destruction: Myself and nothing more.
