What's For Breakfast
What's for breakfast I am asking myself For when I look in the pantry I see many choices on the shelf There are cereals, oats, rice, wheat, and bran It is hard for this empty stomach to make it's stand Should I just open the fridge and take out the eggs Or am I too hungry to wait as my belly begs Perhaps just a PB and J is just right to start this day If I wait much longer my stomach will begin to pray So that is it then I finally made my choice It is PB and J and it will hurriedly still the voice A glass of cold milk to wash it all down And now I feel fit for a king as I put on my crown Out the door now I hurry off to work But wait a minute, I'm retired so I turn around with a jerk Over to the recliner I retreat now to rest What a wonderful start to this day, all this in jest
