My Darling Twin
My Darling Twin In our one womb we began And we took our first breath on this land Me so quite and you so loud And we made our nanna very proud I remember her telling me quite a lot How poppy slapped you in your cot You cried all the time when we came home But after that you didn’t groan or moan Then at five we went to school You were great and headed straight for the hall But me I cried and run to mum Don’t leave me here I’m to young You so bright and me not quite You helped me when I couldn’t get things right You helped me when I couldn’t spell cub From that day on you had my love Then we married and our children we had Me a girl and you a lad What joy it was to be together But a storm was brewing we had to weather Our two children that we loved That god gave us from above Didn’t have long on this earthly plain But we will see them once again We have shared love and pain WE have shared loss and gain WE have shared our birthdays for 56 years We will share them for many more white hairs I love you my darling twin Over the oceans I would swim To be with you in our final days Which isn’t until 100 scorn and 11 days?
