The Hourglass
Life begins - start the timer Watch as each grain of sand falls to the bottom Each one is a passing moment in time A special memory, maybe even every breath... You watch each moment in time pass And then you realize - The hourglass is half finished. The clock continues to tick Tick, tock, tick What is it you have accomplished while each grain fell to the bottom? Now you reminisce, think back to memories But while you're thinking back, More sand falls to the bottom You begin to panic - there's not much time left But then you realize everything that happened should be cherished Just like every moment, maybe even every breath... The last grain of sand just fell. It cannot be turned upside down - You only get one hourglass - one chance to live Each grain of sand should be cherished, and never wasted.
