Why did these men, So strong and so brave, Have to lose their lives, In such a tragic way? Why was the gunman, Filled with such hate? What demons possessed him, And sealed his fate? Why were three families, Thrust into mourning, By senseless violence, That came with no warning? There isn't a good answer, To the "whys" of all this. The only explanation, Is that evil exists. And until the day, That Jesus returns, Evil will increase, As God's love is spurned. But when Jesus comes back, And His Kingdom comes down, He'll make all things new, And His love will abound. There'll be no more killing, No more hatred or fear, No more pain, no more heartache, Only comfort and cheer. This world's full of trouble; It's sad but it's true. So hold tightly to Jesus. He'll carry you through. Based on a true incident in our county in 2009.
