I Whispered
I whispered I love you among the stars They smiled when they heard your name The moon didn't shine as bright that night For she was envious of your fame I whispered I need you in the cool autumn breeze For it might carry my need to your heart I prayed for the wind to bring us together So we won't feel we're so far apart I whispered I miss you to the birds taking flight For one was a snow white dove He cried when I told him how lonely I was So I sent him to bring you my love I whispered your name so the angels could hear They smiled as a tear found their cheek They told me our love was one of a kind On earth, it was truly unique I whispered goodbye as they lowered you down It was the last time that I saw your face But I'll whisper hello when we meet again In another time and place
