A Force of Nature
5 little Bunnies in a terrible storm. 5 little bunnies very recently born. The rain-washed out their nest buried in the ground. Momma bunny was fast carrying them to our mulch mound. Now high above the water but turning oh so cold. Wet and getting colder she buried them to keep them warm. But it was getting colder and she truly did her best, but… Exposure was setting in before they were safely set. Then came my dogs pointing them out in the torrential rain. So we ran out to see what there was to do in gain. Cold, wet, and stiff one barely moved as we picked it up So gathering them in the rain for the house we did gallop. They appeared dead but we wanted to try to save the day We put them together warming them with a drier with no delay. Gently drying and warming their fur… they came back alive. Over night warming was all we could do to help them survive. It stopped raining that night so the very next morn… We reburied them together in the mulch pile safe and warm. Momma bunny found them and raised them just for us… Now precious great grand bunnies play with boldness in our yard…
