Morning Delights
"The breeze outside the window, Bids me a cheerful day; The soft rustling of leaves in the treetops, Has many a thing to say: 'The dark, dreary night is over, The stars 'gainst the velvety drape, Have all faded back in the twilight; Dark horizon the sun now does break'. The birds in their perches are waking, Beginning their day with a song; A chorus of chirping commences, And lasts all the whole day long! The dew on the grass, how it glistens! As the rays of the sun burst so bright. Tiny beads on the flowers do sparkle, Like the jewels of a crown, what a sight! The aroma of morning does linger, In the air, on the breeze, oh so sweet; It silently sneaks through the window, Like the quietest, cleverest thief. The day has come into being, This much, I know can be said. Though the World itself now is awakening, I turn over, and go back to bed."
