The Girl I Used To Be
Extra pounds pad my frame But I’d rather just ignore ‘em Cause in my mind, I still see The girl I used to be My driver’s license say 52 Where has the time gone On a good day I feel 18 Like the girl I used to be When I get up, I hear Creaking and popping sounds My back is weak and hurts a bit But some days I feel young I can't work as hard Walking hurts my back I take pills every day For my aches and ails Gray hair has found its way Into my crowning glory But L’Oreal covers that So it won’t be showing Wrinkles and a sagging chin In my mirror appear But I turn away and I still see The girl I used to be My hands are not as lovely As I remember them I look at them in surprise As if to me they don’t belong Sometimes I forget things I know I used to know Of all the things I miss I miss my mind the most
