Flower
I watched you plant your roots beneath my feet Than I watched you sprout two leafs and slowly breathe Everyday I watched you struggle and persevere Through all the opposing elements you endured fear Later I saw you standing tall holding a coccoon Within this shelter one day would show the real you Than you blossomed colors and started reaching for the sun Unselfishly giving life to all that would soon come I saw creatures drinking dew that dripped from your petals And some carried pieces of you accross the meadow Like an open book you were there for all to see So proud and loved and held in most high esteem You danced in the wind so wildly and free With a certain fragrance oh that smelled so sweet Your individual colors reflect that of a rainbow In time as you grew wiser you too would sew Than yesterday I saw you float accross a breeze Spinning in glide but yet so gracefully Than you layed there looking up from the scorched earth So I layed you in the garden you deserved and your spirit would return
