Oh Fudge
The ground moved beside my feet A mole lives there, I see… I named you fudge The neighbors wanted me to get rid of you Oh Fudge… what will become of you? You’re nature is clear for all to see Sooner or later you’ll visit their yard And their nature is hard hearted to see Oh Fudge… what will become of you? The moment you’re there the hunt will begin And they will destroy you in the end Truly you do not belong in my yard little friend Oh Fudge… what can become of you? I took a shovel to dig you out Till within a bucket you were fleet of feet I let you go in a park’s forested nest Oh Fudge… I know what will become of you. The world is often unkind as it passes us by… No one acknowledges us but in hurtful ways It seems I am too kind hearted by far, you see… Oh Fudge… what will become of me? Kind-heartedness is not the choice for most… It’s not easy, but I’m grateful it has flourished in me. What the others think I do not care… Oh Fudge… what do YOU think of me?
