Who Do You Choose
Your father said Don’t waste your time His focus now Are my daughters of mine What he doesn’t know Is the girls are okay It’s our son who needs us At the end of the day I spoke to our youngest And said what I feel For her it’s unending My love is so real She does everything right Such a gift to me And yet my focus Is the child who won’t see I take away From the daughter who tries To be everything And has never told lies She deserves better than this I do understand But it’s so very hard To make a child a man Be what have I hoped And know that is there So full of love And one day will care Care for me As I do for him And worry and fret That life won’t be grim The path that he’s taken Does not bode well Jail’s his last option His mistakes are my hell
