Angelic View'
Someone recently prayed, was it perhaps you? For a revelation of Easter week from the angels point of view. I drew the assignment (Short straw method, you know) I'm at my desk with pen in hand, so here I go. My name is Clarence (you may have heard of me, years ago I helped George Bailey and it became a great movie; Ol' George believed his circumstances were all going bad, And I had to show him what a wonderful life he had. I earned my wings that Christmas with the ringing of the bell.) Forgive my digression: I have a different story to tell' Oh' that sad night on that mountain, when Jesus knelt in prayer, While His closest group of disciples, peacefully slumbered there' A mob came out and Judas betrayed the Savior with a kiss. (Not one of the angels anticipated this.) There was a mockery of a trial, and a cross was raised high, We stood at heaven's portals watching God's only Son suffer and die. Why would He choose to do this? What could possibly be the cause? Rumor had it that because of sin, all mankind was lost. Looking down as Jesus was laid in a tomb offered by a friend, We were stunned' Surely this must be the end. Suddenly.... three days later in the early hours of that morn, An earthquake; the stone was moved; the Temple veil was torn' In an awesome display of power and clothed in majestic light, We saw our Master Jesus rise from the dead' Oh' what a marvelous sight. Death had been defeated and so also was the grave, God and man were re-united, ("Jesus calls it "being saved.") As it had been before the fall, their fellowship restored, Once again Jesus sat on His throne- the risen- victorious Lord. Such rejoicing there was in Heaven; and ever since those darkest days, The Saints have joined us angels in never-ending praise. So friend, yield your life to the One on the Throne, He will hear you when you call, and He'll make your heart His home.
