True Thomas and Queen of Elfland
In solitary, True Thomas lies under Eldon tree Then came Queen of Elf for a plea. Her velvet and silk seduces the eyes at a glance. Astonished Thomas thought he was in trance "My Thomas, I came to thee not by accident Thou shall travel with me to beautiful land of the ancient And seven years shall thou spend in my luxurious land Caressing my body with thy amorous hands" They rode to immortality, leaving the world behind With her horse that fly faster than the wind My Thomas, she said, "I love and trust in thee, Everything thou shall see shall remain in tongue of thee Or thou shall thy home see not again And forever serve my lustful gain" Seven years of love and bliss past Those years to Thomas seemed so fast In the Elf paradise was a graceful garden Where grown an apple of tongue of virgin "My Thomas, take this apple for thy wages, To thee it will bestow the tongue of ages Thy poetic prophecies shall all come to be And thou shall forever be in glee" For the contest:’ Indulge me Scottish style' sponsored by Thvia Shetley
