Going Gangster
I never got to know you, but you broke my heart. The look on your Mothers face, that tore me apart. You were everybody’s dreams, and nightmares too. God, going Gangster, what grows inside of you? Your beginnings, Momma tried, was a whole lot rocky. Good kid ‘till Junior High, then you got so darn cocky! Rebelled against everything anyone tried to do. God, going Gangster, what grows inside of you? Maybe, this life, you couldn’t see anything so great. Your Momma died, when you went through the pearly gate. Didn’t you know what a keg of dynamite could do? God, going Gangster, what grows inside of you? Did you think you were just in the movies? Wearing red, flashing signs, was fresh and groovy? Shot off your “high horse”, nothing left to do. God, going Gangster, what grows inside of you?
