Set You Free
I’m standing in the doorway, waiting for goodbye It’s not worth fighting for, I’m not even gonna try I should’ve seen the end, back at the very beginning We couldn’t stop fighting, and nobody was winning You should know how much it hurts, to see you walk away But I think it’s better if we go our separate ways I will always remember you, you’ll always be with me You might not understand why I left, but one day you will see We never would’ve worked out, it was a failure from the start But even though we lost, you will forever be in my heart One day you’ll find someone who’s better for you than me She’ll come along and steal your heart, and you’ll give her the key I love you enough to let you go-let you go just like a dove I know you’ll be so happy with her, you’ll both be so in love Then you’ll think of way back when, and you’ll remember me And you’ll think of me with fondness as the girl who set you free
