Out of the Darkness
Out of the Darkness Out of the darkness, we have emerged. The storm has passed, the skies are clear. From where I stand, I reach out to you, so glad that we are still here There were moments it looked so doubtful that we would ever make our way through So many times we almost gave up and good times seemed so few We reached this point, away from the negative, on a promise that outlasted a lie We held on to something we were not sure of, but we had to try Finally, we stand here, face to face In the warmth of love’s embrace Finally, we are happy, but there is also fear And sadness in knowing that one day you won’t be here Life is full of irony, and this love will prove it, too I finally feel like we found our way, but now I face losing you I try to smile and enjoy today, not letting you know I’m scared If we are ever forced apart, will you know how much I cared? You have become a greater love than I ever imagined you’d be I want nothing more than to keep you, but love means setting you free By Melissa Farrow January 2011
