Norwegian Wood
I once had a girl or should I say she once had me. with a soul so tender it melted in your arms and warm enough to want to curl up to, she took me. and with hands cool as stone that could reach into your raw self, and shake the very roots of humanity, and to good health, she raised me. we walked as gods would, if they would breathe like us, if they could need like us and love like us. touch like us and enjoy like us, the gifts of being young like us and being merely us. the days were devoid of a sense of time, as one-track as trees growing, just up, up, up. and the nights were sweet and dark and long with cool skin on skin and hand on heart, songs to a god not there, and the art of offering all to another. how could I have known which the way the winds would have blown, and which trees would have grown had I known the earth a little better, known that seeds need to be sown and now this bird has flown, and I once had a girl or should I say she once had me.
