I Might, We All Will
With these gasping breaths I try to stand and walk Yet another time I stumble and I fall So again I crawl From the smoke and fire It’s rising higher and higher the sky has turned to red I’m facing reality, the only thing I dread From the wreckage I emerge A shadow purged of dreams Just a soul who couldn’t fit in the scheme If I could I’d ask a million things But the demon on my left lights me a cigarette And the angel on my right says “At least you fought the good fight” Die I might, but sometime we all will Cause life is burning out like this cigarette It’s not long enough and always pushing closer to death So I’ll close up these eyes Under the veil of red skies But before I go I’ll write these simple words I always kept them in tow Just for those who care to listen “We all will die, but be sure you fought the good fight” So listen you will, listen you might And the skies will finally return to black tonight
