God's Silence
Have you ever listened to The silence of God? I have The tear shaped raindrop as it Plops splattering upon a leaf Forming a stream that rushes as a river from source to mouth Once again forming a tear shape at the leaf’s very tip Then nature's nectar repeats its journey striking another leaf Have you ever listened to God's silence. I have. I feel the warm, bright, glow and hear the roaring from afar As God's great sphere of fire sets in the western sky Listen as the sun sizzles, and sinks below the Earth's horizon Casting a reddish orange hue across a darkening blue sky Have you ever listened to God's silence? I have. There is a rustling among the vegetation that fills the woodlands As minute, petite, sensitive feet quickly scamper about Foraging forward and backward, skipping and hopping Searching for the safety among a profound beauty Seeking and finding disappearance among the blending foliage Which exist in a deep, and darkening forest of green Have you ever listened to the silence of God? I have. The violent crash of tumbling ocean waves As the roaring foam pounds upon the sandy beaches of white Then spreads its contents and quickly returns to its commence Beyond the spilling of the ocean standing proudly are sea oats Bending not breaking but gently swaying, dancing with content In a natural harmony that plays in a soft whistle of a salty breeze Have you ever strolled among God's silence? I have. Watching as robust pelican flies low in the sky Almost kissing the rolling waves beneath his flight A sanderling chases the ocean foam back from whence it came As above the long winged gull gracefully glides While scrounging for anything it may break fast upon Have you ever listened to God's silence? I have. David Pennington
