Defeat
Words rest on my tongue, trying to escape my lips. No. I wont let them. I will not let myself be defeated by something I cant even see. These emotions burn deep in my veins, chilling my once warm heart. Warming the blood running through my veins is becoming so hard. This thing keeps attacking, each time I stand up, it pushes me back down. It whispers “Stay on the floor, bury your face in your hands and give up.” No! I Will not let myself be defeated. I stand. I focus on the beautiful sun set, Gods painting on the wide open canvas of the sky. As the moon rises, it illuminates the earth as I've never seen. Shadows cast across the ground. But not dark, like those deep within me, trying to destroy me. No, these shadows are filled with wonder and Secrets waiting to be discovered. Stars twinkle into life out of the black depths of sky, reminding me of hope being born within darkness and despair. The voice is persistent however, trying to make me turn away from the beauty of nature and look back into the cold depths of despair. No! I will not let myself be defeated. The darkness within me grows weak, no longer able to control me. The words still lay upon my tongue, pressing to escape my lips. But their strength is fading, mine growing. The stars fade out, giving way to a sunrise. A new beginning. My new beginning. I will not let it defeat me.
