Is She the One?
Is She the One? Is she the one who brushed my side, soft as an angel’s wing? Her face flushed with the beauty only innocence can bring The sweet smile dancing on her lips somehow became my own As our eyes met with pleasure, sending thrills I’d never known How swiftly my smile faded as she hastily walked on Without a second glance, she turned the corner and was gone How could she steal my very heart, when I stole not one kiss? I let the tears fall that I’d saved for such a time as this Reaching for my handkerchief to wipe my blurring eyes My fumbling fingers faltered and confronted a surprise My heart was not the only object plucked by supple hand My wallet also disappeared; my ambush she had planned I never will forget her face, it’s etched within my mind I vowed no rest until this evil temptress I did find Is she the one? Officer asked, quite doubtful at the sight I smiled at her behind the glass, “Oh, she’s the one, alright.”
