Birthday Cake
A single father understanding the beauty of raising a daughter mother didn't bother left him with lonliness standing at the alter atleast this little sentimental infant is his her birthday a few days before a now more valuable Christmas the first required a high chair, and the treat wound up everywhere one of our precious moments, and I enjoyed my cake Soon she started walking, but only with me right behind eats things she shouldn't, and sometimes my keys I can't find babies cry overcomes comfort due to developing teeth I hate seein' her down round the time to put up the wreath onl a booster seat needed, still can tickle her little feet together forever we laugh, and I enjoyed my cake My eyes look bruised, now first hand are the terrible twos yet the heart feels so much, I don't even hear the blues happy birthday to her in my finest harmony as she blows out the candles one, two, three this year seated happily on my knee kissed her heavenily forehead, and I enjoyed my cake Mom suddenly risen from whatever cellar she was imprisioned delivered a court order with precision, tears now my only vision seems she won a custody case, one where they didn't have to see my face I batter a batch in an attempt to satisfy my sadness little did I know it would soon lead to my madness for four days I sit in distress, alone, with no cake.
