We Are Done
Will these tears ever run dry? Will the rain cease to fall from the sky? Will this pain ever ease? Will I find the strength to get up off my knees? It is hard to believe my heart will be whole again. They say in time it will mend, but when? I don’t know that I can love they way I did before. I don’t even know if I would want to anymore. Because there I was with you dreamin and hopin. Loving you so freely, I left my heart wide open. And you left me here desperate and pleading. With my heart split down the side and bleeding. Will this empty feeling ever leave? Will this weight from my chest lift so I can breathe? This heart almost refuses to mend. The nights go on with out any end. And the days do burn under the unforgiving sun. They burn into me, the reality that we are done. Sarah Comstock 3/28/2001
