Life
The new day breaks with the voice of a bird In the distance replies can be heard. The sun starts to rise, so soft and red It’s time for people to rise from bed. The clock is now ticking the race is on Time is short the peace has gone. Things to do people to see The worlds gone mad or is it just me? No time to sit and ponder a while No time to talk and exchange a smile. A cup of tea and a slice of toast On the hoof, but a bit more than most! Out the door and down the street I cross the road and wave to old Pete. In the car, the radio’s on May be they’ll play my favourite song? The lights are red and never green I’m in a hurry, please don’t be mean. Make some calls, grab a shave This is no way for a human to behave. In to work, I arrive on time The daily slog of toil and grime. A day to pass of much the same For when tomorrow comes, we start again!
