Chains
Bound in chains by my carnal flesh's choice Knowing I possess the ability to stop Yet self-control powerless I have lost yet another infuriating battle within Beat down Stumbling through the mire Hardly getting up again Needing to summon the courage To beat this monster raging beneath the surface Do I have the strength to beat this thing for good? Or am I going to willingly lock the door That holds me in this prison I question myself, and my ability But I know I can do it, I have been down this path many times before The key now dangling in my reach Will I step out and take it Grasping hold of the contentment I so desire That only I myself can satisfy, But have held back so stupidly, all this time Paralyzed to begin on this long journey Believing it to be too big a fight Struggling to the end All I can do right now is take that first step No one can do it for me Now slowly inching forward, Armor in place & my sword drawn Ready to conquer & destroy the fierce dragon
