Never To Be Loved
You made me write a love song, to woo her and make her yours. I took in each and every wrong, and opened up all of the doors. I painted you both a masterpiece, her hair shone like strands of pearl. I traveled to Rome, Spain and Nice, to make sure she would be your girl. I climbed the highest mountain top, and cried out her name from high above. When all you ever wanted to was stop, you won her smile and gained her love. Crumpled up paper all on my floor, ink that ran black on bloodied fingertips. You are the one she will always adore, sweet watermelon gloss on her pouting lips. Here I stand in the shadows rightly, clenching both my fists at this creation. Watching on as you embrace her tightly, completes another chapter of my illustration. Crowded into a corner there is no escape, a puppet master, pushed aside and shoved. Even as I memorize her every curve and shape, It is I who fall backwards, never to be loved.
