A Queen's Love
A Queens’s love Thick palace walls where lichen grows, And battlements in deep dark shade, Watch o’er the lady in the tower. Although her heart already knows, She keeps the vow that she has made And sits alone within her bower. As sunset hues of golden glows. And shadows fall in daylight fade The queen mourns for her forest flower*. On Flodden field his life blood flows. Her king the final price has paid. His body broken, battle ower*.
