A Soldiers Tale
So young and naive, the young soldier goes out for the first time in battle. He'll never forget the horrific scene, seeing his comrades slain like cattle. He'll never forget the cries of pain he heard on the battlefield that night. There was nothing he could do to save them, he lied there consumed with guilt and fright. As the sun came up he looked all around at all the mayhem that happened during the night, he fell to his knees and said god help me please help me through just one more night. Night came and went and god had spared him his life. Broken and bruised he heard the beautiful sound of choppers he was going home to his wife. Now an old man he can still hear the cries of his comrades so many years ago, a tear runs down his face because he knows in his heart that he was and always will be a hero.
