He Told Me
Somebody told me today Do what makes you happy - I have yet to get that far But he reassured me today That everything will be fine - Keep reaching for that star He told me life is short Don't waste it being miserable - So i'm trying not to be He told me i'm so young The whole world is in front of me - I'll take this risk and we'll see He told me that he loved me If I needed him to just ask - He's like my second father He said he believes in me And I'll get so very far - And he hugged me like a daughter He said when it looks like Nothing will go right - To tell myself it will all be ok And if I start to doubt My strength in myself - To think tommorrow is another day He told me I have So much good to offer - Congratulated me for having a heart He said he wished me All the luck in the world - "Enjoy your brand new start"
