I am stunned As I stand there Holding that piece of paper. And then I rush to class Hastily, But carefully, Shoving the note Back into my locker. After class, He walks with me And asks for my answer. I don't know what to say-- He's my best friend-- So I give him an apologetic smile And enter my next class Leaving him standing there In the doorway, Watching me before walking off.
