So Much Broken
I saw you walking around smiling; it’s something I don’t get, You have blood on your hands, and I see they’re still wet. You like looking down at others from your perch up above, Trying to play the martyr; with those false wings of a dove. Your stomach’s always full as your sipping your fancy wine, Other’s are starving in the streets; paying for your crimes. So many scratching by; looking for just a piece of bread, You would rather crush them underfoot; then help by extending your hand. There is so much that’s so broken What words now could be spoken There is so much that’s so broken I feel like I’m slowly choking There is so much that’s so broken So many idea’s there to help; we just need to plant the seed, There you are sitting on that throne; you created with your greed. You live your life easy and you keep taking from the well, When it finally runs dry, the rest of us won’t hear you yell. Yet that day has come and you didn’t notice, there’s no cheque in the mail, Your greed flooded your thoughts; now we see pictures on the news of you in jail. I just keep on with blue collar working; trying to help others along the way. You belong where you are for the next twenty; looking through bars all day.
