A Stranger In Our Midst
A Stranger in Our Midst He came from out of nowhere, no one knew his name His clothes were torn and ragged, none knew whence he came The service was in progress when he walked in through the door And fallen leaves of autumn went tumbling on the floor He took a seat right at the back, away from prying eyes He held a hymn book in his hands, the pages turning sighs The organ started playing, it was the Crimond psalm And a voice as rich as treacle soared through the evening calm His presence was ethereal; we all could feel the charge Of something pure and holy, growing very large When the prayers were over he quickly slipped away But left behind a memory that lingers still today. The Lord's My Shepherd- Psalm 23 Scottish Psalter and Crimond Couplet contest 23rd Feb 2010
