The Middle
The Middle We met in the middle as I was falling from the heights of grand dreams I’ve known so well once again You and I just happened to cross paths and at the time I needed a sign anything to let me know I was still alive and had a friend So now as of today I wish I had never laid eyes on you for the fall has never killed me but I know if I don’t say goodbye you will The waxing and waning of our creators twisted game; you seek thrills and a drug abuse release while all I want is a name that’s real I need to be remembered as more than just a joke or rube; I never tried to possess you I knew the feral must run free With a smile on your face you crossed the line between friend and foe with not a shred of compassion or regard for me After teaching me to love and trust again, after an eternity or nearly as long it seems I now leave you consigned to your fate that you may forever haunt only my dreams.
