Is It Too Much?
Can you look me in the eye and say you love me? Can you open up your mouth and let me know? Can you say it to my face, or is it too much of a disgrace? I hope you find the will somehow Is it too much to say, I love you? Is it too hard to let me know you try Am I doing something right, or did I do something wrong? When I give you my heart, should I have to wait for a reply? I thought things would be different And Im not quite sure why Im wondering what you would do If I would start to cry So I tried to gage your reaction To an outward expression of love And was highly dissapointed You couldnt get up and rise above Is it too much to say, I love you? Is it too hard to let me know you try Am I doing something right, or did I do something wrong? When I give you my heart, should I have to wait for a reply? Sitting alone in a cafe booth Staring at the time Waiting for you to arrive Waiting for you to be mine The waitress walks over And tell me they're about to close I get down on my knees And beg for his repose I run outside in the cold damp rain Screaming to the sky Why would you put me through so much pain When all I wanted was for you to be mine Is it too much to say, I love you? Is it too hard to let me know you try Am I doing something right, or did I do something wrong? When I give you my heart, should I have to wait for a reply? Ten days later walking down the street I saw you standing there I asked you what you want And all you could do is stare When I started walking by You got down on one knee. You took my hand, and whispered: Will you marry me? Was it so hard to say, I love you? Was it worth it to take a stand? I thought that we were wrong, but choosing you was right Now understand, and take my hand As we walk...through....time.
