As She Slept
Her eyes led me to this Christmas morning a time not to miss presents waiting to be opened as others slept I sat thinking of her touch her lips the time she wept for years we spent this day with gratitude and contempt this years fills no different up to early alone, time well spent the time is spent remembering Christmas's past before this Her kiss my best gift to have what is...this I could never see now my life I don't even know how watching as my wife and kids sleep being blessed with the memories I keep never hungry, never cold, no more bitterness Held in her arms a world with no harm a life I always wanted fillings blocked and hid a winner one who has it all a true fortune one with no fall I have it all right here in her arms As she slept her love kept a man that is a love that is his a gift so many seek I have here to keep even so as she slept.
