Heaven
There is a place I long to go To see the ones that I love so A mansion is waiting there for me When the last of this old world I see “I’ve got a mansion just over the hilltop….” To heaven where no tears are cried Where pain and sorrow do not abide What wondrous things up there will be When heaven’s bright city, I see “In that bright land where we’ll never grow old….” The streets are paved with gold A crystal stream flows, I am told Meadows of lushest green I can trod A heavenly choir sings praises to God “And someday yonder we will never more wander….” There will be no darkness there Sonlight glistening everywhere The wondrous tree standing tall Flower gardens the lovliest of all “But walk the streets that are purest gold…” But the most wonderful thing to behold Will not be those shiny streets of gold But the glory of His face I will see When at that gate He welcomes me Words( in quotations) and music by Ira F.
