The Perfect Mom
She was there for me when I took my first breath. It was she that offered comfort as I lay my head on her chest. It was her hand that reached for mine whenever I would stumble. And it was her soft voice I heard when the storm outside would rumble. It was her eyes that filled with tears when I made my very first A. And it was her ear that would listen when I had a bad day. It was her lips that smiled at me filled with such pride. When I brought into this world her very first grandchild. It was her arms that held me when I laid my husband to rest. And it was her words of encouragement that kept me from falling off the edge. It was her mind that taught me how to be strong. And it was her heart that taught me to admit when I was wrong. It was her life that I prayed for night after night. And it was my selfishness that constantly pushed her to fight. It was her face that told me she had finally found peace. And that her time here was over as I was overcome with grief. It was my cries that could be heard for many miles I know. And it was my tears that stained the satin roses lying beneath her name in stone. It is my heart that feels her everywhere I go. And it is her spirit that will keep me safe until God calls me home. She was there for me when I took my very first breath. And I was there for her when she took her very last. She is in Heaven now waiting with wide open arms. Because that is what she is she's The Perfect Mom.
