Should History Repeat Itself
I sang a song, Put my heart on a limb, Danced in the sunshine, Dreamed of the day when We, You and me, Or you and I, Or I and you, Could fix our past. When I could be with you. But you waited. You were a few months too late, And now, I'm stuck between what I have and what was, And despite my best efforts to give you up, To figure it out, I can't tell you what it is I want. I doubt, Honestly, Whether you and me will ever work out, But we'll never quit trying. I have my knight in shining armour (or so I'm told) Versus my first love, bad boy brave and bold, And what's a girl to do? I'm stuck between the two Debating, Whether or not I should play it safe, Or risk being hurt again By the same man, Whether or not to play tug of war for one more round, Or settle for my feet being on solid ground. Rationality has gone with the wind, And I'm sitting here stuck, once again.
