Winters Mourn
Your sad eyes surrendered a tear slipping softly from your eye so true. And on your cheek, to me so dear, a treasured mourning drop of you. Standing alone in this crowded field, your soul was pierced for all to view. Love, strength, courage were revealed then flew to nest, with his spirit, for you. I saw a frown furrow your lovely brow. Your small gentle hand began to shake. My lady's strong shoulders slightly bow, weighed by this loving cross you take. The memories etched upon your face, in love and fear of your mother's pain. For the first you brought alive in grace, sleeps and only loving dreams remain You are the living ray of a loving son. Shared suffering surrendered in vain, giving your life, for your cherished one, whose return to God is heavens's gain.
